Call of Duty: World at War for the PlayStation 3 is a first-person shooter video game set in World War II that follows two allied soldiers, Pvt. Miller and Pvt. Petrenko, as they fight to end the war in the last two years of the conflict:

American campaign
Players take on the role of Pvt. Miller as he fights alongside his squad in the Pacific theater on the islands of Makin, Peleliu, and Okinawa against the Imperial Japanese Army. The campaign includes missions such as assaulting Japanese positions on Makin Island and capturing an airfield through a swamp.

Soviet campaign
Players take on the role of Pvt. Dimitri Petrenko as he fights alongside his squad on the Eastern Front, mainly in Nazi Germany.
