Released on March 14, 2025, Heat Wave make up the nineth Japanese main expansion sets from the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet era. Combined, they are the Japanese equivalent to the English expansion set, Destined Rivals.
The set continues to feature the “Trainer’s Pokémon” cards re-introduced in Battle Partners. The trainers spotlighted in Heat Wave Arena are Ethan, Cynthia, Arven, and a trainer from the original release of Trainer’s Pokémon cards, Misty!
The pack art of Heat Wave Arena features Ethan’s Ho-Oh, and the Special Art Rare for it has been compared to the Lugia V Secret Rare from Silver Tempest / Paradigm Tiger. The other two Pokémon found on the pack art, Cynthia's Garchomp and Arven's Mabosstiff both featured in their own SARs as well!
Each Japanese Heat Wave Booster Pack contains 5 random cards each.
